American Legion Post 58 in Belmont announced that this year’s Memorial Day parade and ceremonies will be held on May 30 at 1 p.m. The parade route runs from the Belmont Middle School parking lot down to Main Street and then along Main Street to the Veterans Memorial by St. Joseph’s Church. The ceremony will be conducted at the Memorial. Any veteran – whether a member of the Legion or not – is invited to come to the Middle School parking lot at 12:45 and march with us. Everyone is encouraged to attend and show their honor, respect and appreciation for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the freedoms and way of life we all enjoy. Post 58 and Jordan’s Ice Cream are once again providing tickets for an ice cream cone to all children 12 and under who attend the parade and ceremonies.

The town of Henniker Memorial Day parade will kick off from the Henniker Community School at 10 a.m. Monday led by the Henniker Fire & Rescue Department followed by the NH Pipes & Drums band. Wreaths will be placed at memorials at the Tucker Free Library, Woodman Park and the cemetery behind the town hall and on the Edna Dean Proctor Bridge. The parade will conclude at Angela Robinson bandstand in Community Park with a short program to follow.

The H.L. Turner Group Inc. is proud to announce the winners of their Architecture and Engineering Scholarships. On May 3, for the second year in a row, TTG awarded two $1,000 scholarships for post-secondary education to two high school seniors; one accepted to an architecture program and one to an engineering program for the Fall semester of 2022. The winner for this year’s Architecture Scholarship was Milikit T. Jaleta of Pinkerton Academy. Milikit was accepted to Keene State College where he plans to pursue an education in Architecture. The winner for this year’s Engineering Scholarship was Clyde Thurber-Wells of Merrimack Valley High School. Clyde was accepted to Clarkson University where he plans to pursue an education in Mechanical Engineering.
