3The Saratoga Builders Association again this year awarded two scholarships to high school seniors who plan to study construction or enter the field after graduation.
Timothy Phelps of Ballston Lake, a senior at Shenendehowa High School, will attend the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse in the fall to study construction management. Dawson Shippee of Corinth, a senior at Corinth High School, also attended Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES at the F. Donald Myers Education Center in Saratoga Springs. He will be working for Bonacio Construction after graduation.
Each student received $1,000 — Phelps toward his education and Shippee toward the cost of tools. The association gives two scholarships each year, one an annual gift and one is in memory of contractor Bob Best.
Both recipients were presented their scholarships at a reception held at Prime at Saratoga National.
